Sunrye (Red Hook Ale Brewery - Portsmouth, NH)

Meh.

That’s about the extent of this beer.

It’s not a bad brew by any means, but it just doesn’t quite cut it. You know, like that girl (or, dude, if you’re a lady) who really isn’t all that attractive but (he) she’s really not nasty, either, but you keep her (him) on speed dial for those late nights when you just need to .... talk to someone?

Yeah, we know the feeling. This beer is that girl ... or guy.

It’s sorta cloudy, sorta lemony, sorta grainy, sorta rye.

The taste is far from memorable (we had to crack open another one just to really come up with something interesting to say) but it isn’t bland or watery. It’s just ... meh.

It’s a summer ale, and at that - it’s decent. But for a real beer lover, it’s a beer that’s always so last season.

Rating: 3 pints

Yeah, you have to have always a plan B for those times when A is not available.
